Robert Messyasz
-
Throughout his life, Robert took on the definition of what it means to be a “jack-of-all-trades.” Committing to a particular artistic style was not the point of his creating. Rather, his fascination with all forms of art has allowed him to take on a diverse array of multimedia and expression. From illustrating and sculpting, both by hand and digital graphic representation, to commercial publishing art and fashion photography and photo manipulation. From interior and industrial design to jewelry pieces and accessories.
In response to his insatiable desire to create, Robert is willing to take on and explore any idea. The founding of Art Path Studio in 2019 is Robert’s latest endeavor to take on all that his creativity has to offer. His love of architecture and interior design has currently lead him to embrace functional art through different forms.
His art is eclectic in nature and ultimately an ode to the senses. Through the use of juxtaposing materials such as metal and resin, tactility is enhanced by the exaggeration of shape and seemingly random, yet meticulously curated, forms and textures.
Furthermore, there is no one motif or purpose driving the final pieces, but rather the concept that this art can either enhance or calm, compliment or even contradict, the space in which they reside and illuminate.
Robert Messyasz was born in Warszawa, Poland in 1963. He and his family eventually moved to the United States in 1977, where Robert’s passion for art landed him in the High School of Art and Design in Manhattan, and was later continued by getting his BFA Degree at Parson’s School of Design. He worked in the publishing and graphics design business while simultaneously cultivating his own forms of expression through illustrations, jewelry designs, and sculptures that he's sold over the years. His current works are created at the newly established Art Path Studio in New Jersey and showcased at amArthouse in Bantam CT.
